Do you want spiritual blessings for your family?
Do you want your children to have better appreciation of the Catholic faith?
Do you want to experience the caring of a Catholic community?
YES. Like you, these are also what we want for our families, for our children, for our community.
The good news is -
Our Mary Mother of Good Counsel Parish - in response to the Diocesan mission of Paranaque to organize BECs in all its parishes - is making these possible by bringing the church to our families and neighborhood through the Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC).
The new way of being church
-
A BEC cell is composed of 6-8 neighboring families who help each other find relevant responses to their concerns - both human and spiritual - as part of a bigger faith family, the church. Its activities are centered on the Word of God and the Eucharist.
-
BEC member families develop a strong sense of caring and responsibility for each other through sharing, service and prayer
- The BEC is the church’ response to the call for renewal and to be more responsive to the needs of its people.
- In the past, the people came to the Parish church for evangelization, whereas the BEC enables the people to experience Church in their very own neighborhood as they gather together as faith families.
- Its mission is to recapture the spirit of the original Church in the context of our present needs as members of our parish.
In Acts 2, 42-47, it is written:
The early Church lived as a small community, caring for one another, alive and vividly animated by the presence of the Holy Spirit so that “awe came upon everyone” and “‘everyday the Lord added to their number those who were being saved”.
-
Organizing a BEC starts with a visit by the BEC facilitators to your home. They will explain more about how your family will benefit from the BEC.
In summary, the BEC is a community of Catholics helping each other to integrate their faith in their daily life. It is the new way of “being church”.
We invite you to experience belonging as faith families in our BEC…
And discover today’s way of being Catholic! |
